Abstract

|
In this study, we analyzed the socioeconomic factors that cause the youth's NEET ratio of 17 OECD countries and what kind of factors combine to create high youth NEET. Analysis of the factors affecting the NEET ratio through the analysis of requirements and sufficiency conditions showed that the economic growth rate, the proportion of manufacturing, the level of full - time employment protection, and the active labor market policy pass both the requirements and the sufficiency test, as the most important factor. The combination of factors that cause high NEET can be summarized in three points: when the level of employment protection is high, the expenditure on active labor market policy is low, the proportion of manufacturing is low, and the expenditure on active labor market policy is low, And the level of employment protection is high while the economic growth rate is low.
